The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine announced a few days ago that, according to the “Replied to Questions Concerning the Use of Food Additives†(GB2760-2011) issued by the General Office of the Ministry of Health, food additive manufacturers are prohibited from producing 33 kinds of propyl paraben etc. Food additives, 33 kinds of food additives that the company has produced are forbidden to be sold as food additives, and food production enterprises are prohibited from using them. At present, the quality inspection department has stopped accepting production license applications for these 33 kinds of food additives. The AQSIQ and the Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision will withdraw and cancel all approved production licenses for food additive manufacturers before December 20; at the same time, AQSIQ requires quality and technical supervision departments at all levels to increase supervision. Law enforcement, strengthen the supervision and inspection of relevant production companies, investigate and deal with illegal production activities.
