BMW i8 convertible will be mass production

Yesterday, foreign auto media disclosed a group of news about the permission to produce i8 Spyder (abbreviation: i8 convertible). The prototype of the car is the i8 Concept Spyder concept car announced at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. The production model will be Listed in 2015.

As no relevant information was announced, we do not know the technical parameters of the i8 convertible. However, it can be speculated that the i8 convertible version should use the same powertrain as the hardtop version, using a hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L three-cylinder turbocharged engine and electric motor with a maximum total power of 362 horsepower. Torque reaches 579 Nm.
