Lithium niobium beneficiation technology

Lithium Beryllium is a defense industry and aerospace technology is indispensable rare metals, and increasingly extended to civilian (lithium and beryllium molybdenum alloy).

The main minerals of lithium niobium are spodumene, lithium mica , beryl and gold emerald . Produced in Weijing granite or hydrothermal gas deposits or strontium-bearing striped rocks, distributed in Xinjiang, Sichuan, Hunan and other places. As early as the 1960s, the “Lithium Phosphate Alkali Method No Desliming Simple Flotation Process” developed by our institute won the national invention certificate and was successfully used in China's first lithium fluorite flotation plant. The ore contains Li2O≥1%, and the mixed collector (oxidized oxide soap and naphthenic ACID soap) is added to the medium (sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate) medium by grinding (without de-mudging) for room temperature flotation ( A coarse and fine) can obtain high quality spodumene concentrate (Li2O ≥ 6.0%) recovery rate ≥ 80%. It has become the classic process of spodumene flotation.

The first beryl flotation plant in China was used in the continuous test in the 1960s, and the “three alkalis” (sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, sodium sulfide) “two soaps” (oxidized stone soaps) were completed in the industrial test in the 1970s. And naphthenic acid soap) "one oil" (diesel) flotation beryl without sludge removal process. The ore grade is 0.141% BeO, the beryl concentrate grade is 8.74% BeO, and the recovery rate is 81.85%. It is the only production process that provides beryl flotation concentrate in China today.

Since spodumene is often associated with beryl, their flotation separation has been a mineral processing problem. After decades of research, our institute has obtained industrial test results: for lithium-containing antimony ore (containing 0.096% BeO, 0.26% Li2O), the antimony concentrate grade is 9.24% BeO, and the recovery rate is 80.82%. The yield of lithium concentrate is 5.03% Li2O, and the recovery rate is 43.22%. For lithium-containing ores containing 0.05% (including 0.05% BeO, 0.93% Li2O), the lithium concentrate grade is 6.0% Li2O, the recovery rate is 88.15%, and the yield is 88.15%. The ore grade is 8.50% BeO, and the recovery rate is 69.84%.

The research on gold emeralds in the striped rock in our institute began in the 1970s. Due to the complex ore composition, the early use of flotation obtained gold ore concentrate grade from the ore (containing 0.35% BeO) was about 1.80% BeO, and the recovery rate was about 64%. After calcination-acid leaching-extraction-back-extraction-calcination, the final product contains 98% BeO, and the recovery rate of the original ore is about 40%, and the best process is still being studied.
