Polypropylene workshop exploded due to propylene leak

At 9:54 pm on June 12th, the No. 3 polymerizer reactor hopper of Yanzhou Refinery Polypropylene Plant exploded due to leakage of propylene raw materials. After the accident, the local government and the leaders of the refining industry, as well as the safety and firefighters, rushed to the scene the first time and implemented emergency treatment. The accident site was completely controlled after only 15 minutes.

It is reported that one operator was slightly injured (scratched) during the accident, and caused no major damage except for the damage of glass doors and windows and damage to the Caigang fence. According to local environmental protection agencies, the accident did not cause environmental pollution. According to the on-site analysis of the relevant experts, the cause of the accident was explosion of raw material propylene at the hopper. The company stated that it will intensify its reforms in an reciprocal manner. By the afternoon of the 13th, the production of the device was recovering.
