The choice of the electric spindle can be based on the power, torque, maximum speed and disassembly of the spindle. The motor with sleeve or the motor without sleeve can be used. At the same power, the electric spindle with the sleeve transmits a large torque, and the maximum speed is low, and the spindle and the rotor are easy to disassemble; the electric spindle without the sleeve is exactly the opposite, and can be selected according to the specific situation. The dynamic balance of the electric spindle is to prevent the centrifugal vibration of the machine during operation, which is commonly used in machining centers. The lubrication methods of rolling bearings are grease lubrication, oil mist lubrication, oil and gas lubrication, and fuel injection lubrication. The difference between them is mainly the level of lubrication performance and economic cost. Oil and gas lubrication or injection lubrication is recommended in the electric spindle. Although the structure is complicated and the economic cost is high, it is beneficial to maintain the precision and extend the life of the high-speed electric spindle.
Assembly of the electric spindle The assembly of the electric spindle is mainly the assembly of the sleeved rotor and the spindle in the liquid-cooled induction motor and the assembly of the stator and the spindle head with the spiral cooling groove. The assembly of the latter is carried out by means of ordinary extrusion, and no special explanation is given here. The former requires the proper equipment and tooling (incubator, hydraulic tank and special vertical tools) because the rotor and the main shaft transmit torque by the interference. (1) Assemble the spindle assembly for dynamic balancing. The allowable residual eccentricity is less than 0.002 mm. (2) The rotor is placed in the incubator, the temperature is strictly controlled to 180-200, and the temperature must not exceed 200 to avoid damage to the motor windings. (3) The maximum temperature of the spindle before assembly is not more than 30, so as to avoid the amount of thermal expansion greater than the interference between the rotor and the main shaft. (4) After the rotor is heated, the spindle is quickly brought to the correct position, and the spindle is vertically assembled into the rotor with a dedicated vertical tool. (5) After the spindle and rotor temperatures have dropped to room temperature, check the assembly of the spindle and rotor. If the spindle and rotor are not fully seated, the spindle can be calibrated to the desired position with oil pressure.
