Qinghai is one of the regions rich in solar energy. It has strong solar radiation, long sunshine hours, annual total radiation of 5800 to 7400 MJ/m2, and direct radiation accounts for more than 60% of total radiation. In particular, in the Qaidam Basin, the total annual solar radiation is greater than 6,800 MJ/m2, and there are 100,000 km2 of desertified land that can be used for photovoltaic power generation. This is considered to be an ideal place for the development of the solar power industry.
