South Korea wants to be the leader in ballast water treatment systems

It is reported that South Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (MLTM) has sent 28 experts to participate will be held on the 64th IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee meeting 1-5 October, 28 people involved ballast water treatment systems, green In the fields of gas and marine pollution.
The Ballast Water Convention was adopted by IMO as early as February 2004, and South Korea prepared for the entry into force of the Convention by implementing ballast water treatment in 2007. In order to promote the development of the ballast water treatment industry and lead the world market, South Korea established an interim standard for the approval of ballast water systems in 2006. At present, nine products in South Korea have received approval from IMO.
MLTM hopes to introduce the development status, capabilities and technology of the current ballast water treatment system in Korea to IMO member countries during the conference and promote the entry into force of the Convention.
