Thailand's auto parts industry is in short supply of 4 to 50,000 people

The former chairman of the Thai Automobile Accessories Association, Pasir, said that currently the Thai auto parts industry is facing labour shortage. It is estimated that there will be a total of 4-5 million workers this year. Most of them are low-level workers with high school qualifications. Anchana, chairman of the Thai Automobile Parts Association, said that in the second quarter of this year, the production capacity of the auto parts industry will return to 100%. Currently, 60% of the disaster-affected companies have resumed production, while the remaining 40% are mostly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The impact of the 300-min minimum daily wage policy is greater.

Last year, the total export of auto parts in Thailand was 9.721 billion baht, an increase of 13.39%, accounting for 4.25% of Thailand's total exports. Exports are expected to increase by 11% this year. The main export markets are India, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brazil, and India.
