The national 6b emission standard is China's pollutant emission control standard for road-mounted internal combustion engines, and is regarded as the most stringent emission control standard in history. On June 22, 2018, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the State Administration of Market Supervision jointly issued the "Limits and Measurement Requirements for Pollutant Emissions from Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicles (China's Sixth Phase)" (referred to as the National Sixth Emission Standard), and will be respectively In 2020 and 2023, it will be implemented in the 6a and 6b phases.
Compared with the current Euro IV emission regulations and other European and American emission control regulations, the requirements of the National Sixth emission standards in high-altitude emission control, emission warranty period, remote vehicle terminal monitoring, and compliance in use are significantly higher than those of Euro VI emission regulations. The K08 model developed and manufactured by Yuchai is certified by the National Testing Center for National Sixth Emissions. It is carried out under the full video surveillance of the Vehicle Waste Control Center (VECC) of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Tested by the testing center, the Yuchai K08 model passed the bench emission certification test, OBD certification test, NOx control certification test and vehicle road (PEMS) emission certification, all pollutants fully meet the national six emission standards limit requirements. And successfully passed the most stringent national 6b certification.
The test results show that the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission of Yuchai K08 engine is 40% lower than the national standard limit requirement, carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions are close to zero, and particulate matter (PM) emissions are higher than that of the country. The six standard limit requirements are 80% lower, and the measured maximum number of particles (PN) is only 22.6% of the national standard limit. The emission margin is very large, which lays a technical foundation for further upgrading of emissions in the future.
