Toyota recalls 600,000 commercial vehicles in the United States

Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan announced in the United States on the 16th that due to security risks, it decided to recall the Sienna commercial vehicles that were sold in the United States from 1998 to 2010, and recalled about 600,000.

Reuters quoted a statement from Toyota that due to the corrosion of the hanging cable, the spare tire of this car suspended under the rear chassis may fall off during driving in some cases, thus giving the rear vehicle a safety hazard.

The Saina commercial vehicle involved in the recall included all non-four-wheel drive models sold in the United States from 1998 to 2010, totaling about 600,000 vehicles.

Toyota’s statement stated that since salt on the highway surface may accelerate the corrosion of hanging cables, Toyota hopes that all owners of US Saina commercial vehicles will go to dealers to check the condition of the vehicles as soon as possible.

The previous day, Toyota had announced that it would suspend production of this Toyota luxury series because of exposure to the Lexus GX460 sport utility vehicle running at high speed.
