Recently, as part of an agreement with Globecomm Maritime, German shipping company Reederei Werner Bockstiegel will install the Iridium Pilot system throughout its fleet.
According to reports, the Iridium Pilot terminal will form part of the upgrade of the Telaurus se@COMM communication package, and the upgraded communication package will be installed by Globecomm to the 65 ships of the entire fleet of Reederei Werner Bockstiegel.
The ship will be equipped with a captain's dedicated telephone line and two separate crew telephone lines; the Telaurus se@COMM Wi-Fi service will also enable the crew to establish an entrance connection via their laptop and smartphone.
