Yokogawa and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (Product Research Institute) jointly developed the system "e-trace" for remote calibration of digital pressure gauge standard instruments, and the "Measurement Exhibition 2007 Tokyo" ended on November 9, 2007. "Showed on." If the system reaches a practical level, it will shorten the calibration time and reduce the cost.
In order to calibrate standard instruments for operation, measurement equipment manufacturers are generally required to entrust a calibration service provider (the calibration service provider has a calibration standard instrument that has been calibrated according to Japanese national standards). Since the service provider's device is large in size and complicated in operation, it takes about two months for transportation and procedures. In addition, the instrument must be skilled and difficult to automate.
E-trace was previously remotely calibrated using an arbiter that was calibrated according to Japanese national standards (Figure 1). After the calibration service provider and the measurement equipment manufacturer develop the correction application through the Internet to the production and development, the production comprehensive research will send the arbitrator to the applicant. Then, the Research Institute remotely operates the arbiter and the standard instrument as the calibration object through the Internet, and calculates the correction value based on the data difference between the two. After the measuring equipment manufacturer returns the arbitrator, the comprehensive research will issue a calibration certificate (Figure 2).
In July 2007, Yokogawa and Co., Ltd. conducted a remote calibration verification experiment on the calibration standard instrument at the Yokogawa Measurement Standard Center. In September 2007, experiments were carried out on the standard instruments used in the operation of the Chinese subsidiary of Yokogawa, and all of them were successful. Based on the above results, it is estimated that the Research Institute will be able to provide measurement standards to Japanese companies based overseas.
In terms of the pressure range of the arbiter used in the experiment, the gas differential pressure was 10 to 10 kPa. The instability is 100 mPa or less. In the future, Yokogawa plans to increase the performance of the arbiter while achieving miniaturization and cost reduction.
